The ingredients needed to prepare Live dhokla:
  1. Prepare 1 tbsp Toovar dal/ arhar dal –
  2. You need 1 cup Rice/ chawal –
  3. Use Chana dal/ split Bengal gram – ½ cup
  4. Prepare Turmeric powder/ haldi- a pinch of
  5. Provide to taste Salt
  6. Prepare 1 tsp Red chili powder –
  7. Provide Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbspGreen chili paste – 1 tsp
  8. Take Oil – 1 tsp Baking soda – as required
  9. Use 4 tbsp Curd –
  10. Use Red chili powder to sprinkle on dhokla while steaming
Instructions to make Live dhokla:
  1. Clean, wash and soak the rice and lentils for 4-5 hours.
  2. Rinse and remove the water.
  3. Now grind the rice and lentils with curd.
  4. Make a fine paste and the consistency is to between thick and thin
  5. Now cover with a lid and ferment for 8-10 hours.
  6. Now add salt, haldi, ginger garlic paste, green chili paste,red chili powder, salt, oil and mix well.
  7. Grease the plate in which dhokla is to be steamed.
  8. Now the amount of batter required to be steamed at one time take it into a small bowl. Add baking soda to it.
  9. Immediately pour the batter in the plate and Sprinkle red chili powder on the batter and steam it.
  10. It will take 10-15 minutes. Check with a toothpick.Repeat the same process with the remaining batter.
